2024 CCC Board Members

President - Tom Burns

Tom was a commercial insurance broker for most of his career before retiring in 2022. Tom was a member of the Waterloo Cycling Club for many years until he moved to Craigleith. Some of Tom’s favourite places to cycle, outside of Collingwood, are Mallorca and the Carolinas. Tom has been an active Ride Leader for five years and on the Board for three years, as Vice President and Route Master, maintaining the CCC library of routes that are posted weekly to the Cycle Club app. Tom became President, of the Club, at the 2024 AGM.

Vice-President - David Faoro

David has been a member of CCC since 2017 and served on the 2023 Board as Director at Large.  David is an avid cyclist as well as a CASI Level 2 snowboard instructor.  He is still working full time in the Transportation and Logistics sector and has served on the board of various professional organizations.   David was born and raised in Vancouver BC.

Treasurer – Jim Emory

Jim grew up in Montreal and has worked at various times in Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal and Ottawa while pursuing a multi-facetted career with RBC, spanning over 41 years.  Now retired, Jim and his wife Pamela, moved to Collingwood in 2021, to be close to family. Jim has been cycling for almost 40 years. Jim joined the Board in 2022, serving as Assistant Treasurer and Social Event Coordinator.

Secretary – Sharon Chadwick

Sharon grew up in Durban, South Africa, and immigrated to Canada in 1989; she joined Imperial Chemical Industries plc (formerly CIL) and after six years was transferred to London, UK, and then sent on an 18-month secondment to Melbourne, Australia, returning to Toronto in late 1999.  Sharon specialized in financial consolidation and management reporting applications working in global consulting/software companies and/or multinational corporates.

Sharon took up Masters’ alpine racing in 2007 so it was just a matter of time before she bought a home in Collingwood, in 2016. Sharon obviously joined CCC the same year but was a weekend warrior for four years until she retired in March 2020.  Sharon joined the Board in March 2024 but started getting involved in Fall 2023.

Events - Irene Maguire

Irene grew up in Huron County and held various management positions in the Canadian consumer packaged goods sector, spanning both manufacturing and retail. From 2017, Irene managed event support services for the World Masters Athletics Toronto 2020 Championships and contributed to a volunteer alliance encouraging sport organizations to commit to the United Nations Sports for Climate Action Framework. Irene is passionate about tri-sport (cycling, running, swimming) and advocating for climate action. Now retired, Irene moved to The Blue Mountains in 2023 and joined the Board in March 2024.

Club Policies & Procedures - Ireen Wieditz

Ireen has been a member of CCC since 2021 and joined the Board in 2023. She was previously a member of the Morning Glory Cycling Club as well as the Cabbagetown Cycling Club, where she served as a ride leader. Ireen enjoys various forms of riding including road, mountain and gravel.

Ireen works for the Ontario Government in Treasury Board Secretariat, where she works on labour relations issues. She has also worked in the areas of economic development, climate change, green roofs and agency governance and relations.

In 2020, Ireen moved from Toronto to Collingwood, and now resides here full-time with her husband, daughter and two cats.
